Sustainable energy: the next phase

The Clean Growth Strategy – an analysis and interpretation from Ecuity Consulting

The publication of the Clean Growth Strategy (CGS) is an important milestone for those interested in the UK’s ambitions to deliver a low carbon economy. Alongside achieving clean growth, the Government’s strategy aims to ensure affordable energy and boost jobs and productivity.

This is an important development for those engaged in the manufacture, distribution and installation of energy and transport related products, materials and fuels, or in the development of innovative new products. The commercial opportunities which may emerge as a result of the strategy are varied and it will be important to get into the detail as alongside the strategy document itself there are a range of new calls for evidence, consultations and funding rounds.

Our summary document looks at four areas within the plan; improving business and industry efficiency, improving homes, accelerating the shift to low carbon transport and delivering clean, smart, flexible power.

For each area, we outline a summary of the key proposals from the CGS followed by more detail with our interpretation.
